NOW is the best time to call on our muses, put on our creative hats, break out the pen, pencil, or ipad to put down the amazing ideas that have been swirling around in our head for the past ...well, forever! NO NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS! NO WISH LISTS! NO EXCUSES! Time to put DREAMS into ACTION! “Nothing beats a failure but a try!” And I’m willing to bet there will absolutely be some failures before we get the formula right! In the meantime, TRY TRY and TRY again to start that business, hobby, job, relationship, location, or life balance that supports your unique purpose. Don’t just DREAM about it, BE about it!

If not now, WHEN? :-)

Sometimes THE CART COMES BEFORE THE HORSE and it turns out not to be a bad thing! :-)

Enter: vintage white cart. I was inspired to rescue this find from a second hand shop. I have nothing to put in it but it seems to be exactly what I need. Its a little beat up, perfectly imperfect (wabi sabi), and has lots of character, as is most of the things that I’m drawn to. Ideal for storing my creative junk. :-)

Stay tuned for what the “junk” will turn into.... :-)

Thank you to family, the individual people, and organizations bringing awareness to Cancer in communities everywhere (Carrie’s Touch and East Oakland Boxing Association), and to all of the Luvs who inspired this wonderful experience. I wouldn’t change anything about the path that brought me to this contribution.

(A special thank you to Bob. You may have seen him standing with a sign asking for spare change next to the freeway on ramp. He kept me company while I painted this. He had the deepest, soulful blue eyes (I took the time to look) and the warmest, most sincere voice (I took some time to listen). He shared with me that he is a homeless veteran and is in the last stages of Cancer. The mural meant something to him. That touched my heart. I personally dedicate this to him. Bob, brave man, you are loved, a hero to someone, and most of all not forgotten. :-)

Serving on NCSU College of Design Leaders Council!

I’ve been asked to serve on the College of Design Leaders Council at NC State School of Design. How cool is this HONOR!- to be a professional influence on the up and coming designers of tomorrow!

(The Design Guild Board of Directors and NC State College of Design established the Leaders Council to more fully engage distinguished design professionals with College of Design students, faculty, and other alumni and professionals.)
